Roads scored by how much they bend.
Every navigation app can find the fastest way. Vamoto measures the radius of each curve on every road in Europe, from tight hairpin to fast sweeper, and then routes you along the ones that score well.
Two things had to hold for that score to mean anything. A long straight between hairpins must not dilute a great pass, and a wiggly forest track must not be able to game it. So Vamoto counts sustained curve on roads you would actually ride, and the famous passes score the way you would expect.

The whole engine rides with you.
The maps and the routing engine live on your phone rather than on somebody's server. In airplane mode, or down a valley with no coverage, Vamoto still plans and re-plans at the same speed and over the same roads. Offline is how it runs all the time, so nothing is held back for when the bars come back.

Vamoto is an app on your phone and a planner in your browser. Sketch Sunday's route with a coffee and a big monitor, and it's on the handlebars by the time you gear up. The routes and the rider profiles are the same on both, and they stay in sync.
On the road the phone looks after itself: it carries its own maps and does its own routing. You need the browser only when you feel like planning at a desk.

A rider profile changes how the router thinks: which roads count as attractive, and how far out of the way a good curve is worth going. It also decides which surfaces you are happy to ride.

Tell it 150 km. Get back a loop.
Give it a start point and a target length. Add a compass direction if you have one in mind. Vamoto strings together the best curvy stretches nearby and lands within a few percent of the distance you asked for. The loop circulates instead of sending you out and back along the same road.
Every route carries a seed. Keep the seed and yesterday's loop comes back exactly as it was; change it and the planner goes looking somewhere else.

Every photo on this page is my own, shot on the road in 2025 and 2026 on trips that ran from Nordkapp down to Tarifa. Some are older than Vamoto, some were taken on rides while I was building it. Nothing here is rendered.

Vamoto will cost a couple of euros a year. That covers the servers and keeps development going, and it is not meant to do more than that.
There are no ads, and your location is never for sale. There's no premium tier keeping the good features back either: one price, everything included. Routing runs on your own phone, so nobody is billing you for server time.

Vamoto launches with Europe and at least North America. The exact region list goes out with the release. Maps live on your device, so you download the regions you ride and delete the ones you don't. They keep working where roaming never reaches.

Common questions.
What does it cost?
Around €3 a year. The price is there to cover hosting and development once there's a real userbase. There are no ads and nothing about you is sold on. No feature sits behind a bigger tier.
Does it really work offline?
Yes, that's the whole point of Vamoto. Maps and the routing engine live on the device, so planning and re-routing work in airplane mode, and so does the ridden map.
Is it an app or a website?
Both. The app on your phone does the riding: it carries its own maps and its own routing. The browser planner is for sketching routes on a big screen, and the two stay in sync.
Where does it work?
At launch, Europe and at least North America. The exact region list is announced with the release, and more regions follow after that. You download the map regions you ride onto your device.
What's a seed?
Loops and curvy routes use a controlled bit of randomness so you keep finding new rides. The seed pins that randomness down: the same seed with the same settings rebuilds the identical route, so you can pass a ride to a friend or roll a new one.
Is my data private?
Routes and rides are stored on your device by default. They only leave it when you sign in and sync, or when you create a share link yourself. What we collect.
